About Chessnb
A clear way to get
better at chess.
Chess is full of advice. Watch an opening video. Solve more puzzles. Play more games. Memorise this pattern. Avoid that mistake. For a learner, especially at the beginning, it can quickly become too much.
A child may know how the pieces move but still not know what to do after the first few moves. A teenager may play online regularly yet keep losing to the same simple mistakes. An adult may have wanted to learn chess for years but never found a path that felt organised enough to follow.
Chessnb exists to make that path clearer.
Who We Are
An online academy built for growth, not just games.
Chessnb is an online chess academy for kids, teens, and adult learners. We teach students from their first moves through stronger tournament-level play, using live classes, small batches, and a fixed learning progression.
Our academy is based in Hyderabad and teaches students worldwide through live online sessions. Classes run on Google Meet or Zoom, while practice and game work can take place on Lichess. This keeps learning flexible without making it impersonal.

Sai Vishnu
FIDE AIM Coach (1740+)
Chessnb is led by Sai Vishnu, a FIDE AIM coach with experience coaching students across multiple countries. But Chessnb is designed to be more than a coach teaching from a screen.
It is a structured learning environment where students know where they are, what they are working toward, and how their progress is being checked.
"A chess rating is useful, but it does not automatically make someone a good teacher. Coaching requires patience, clear explanations, and the ability to notice what a student has understood—and what they may only appear to understand. That difference matters in every class."
Why We Teach This Way
Most learners do not struggle because chess is beyond them. They struggle because their learning is scattered.
They learn a tactical trick one day, watch an opening video the next, play several fast games after that, and still do not know why the same positions keep going wrong. The problem is usually not effort. It is the lack of a sequence.
Chessnb uses a clear progression instead of a random collection of lessons. The levels are built around the learner's current stage:
Beginner
Learn the board, core rules, simple tactics, checkmates, and how to avoid common blunders.
Intermediate
Improve calculation, tactical vision, piece activity, opening principles, and basic endgame play.
Advanced
Develop deeper planning, understand pawn structures and weak squares, prepare openings, and work on practical conversion.
How Learning Works
We keep the starting process straightforward.
Send an enquiry
First, you send an enquiry with the learner's age, current experience, and goal. This helps us understand whether the right fit is a beginner batch, a higher-level group, or personal coaching.
Free trial or consultation
Next comes a free trial class or consultation. There is no need to guess whether the format will suit the learner. The trial helps students and parents see how classes work, ask questions, and make a more informed choice.
Join and start learning
Once a student joins, the learning has a regular rhythm: Two live classes each week, lessons matched to the student's level.
Practice & Homework
Homework and weekly puzzle sets between classes. Practice games and game analysis where appropriate.
Feedback & Support
Direct feedback, doubt clearing, and follow-up support on WhatsApp.
Review & Progress
Level checks and reviews to see whether the learning is actually staying with the student.
This is not a race. Some ideas take one lesson to understand and several weeks to use confidently in a game. That is normal.
We revisit important concepts, correct habits early, and keep the next step visible.
What Students Can Expect
Students can expect a class where it is okay not to know the answer immediately.
Chess can be frustrating. You can see a tactic perfectly in a puzzle and miss the same idea in your own game. You can play well for twenty moves and lose focus once. That is part of learning a demanding game.
4-6
Students per batch
For students who need individual attention, Chessnb also offers limited 1:1 coaching. These sessions are built around the student's own games, weaknesses, and tournament plans.
Mistakes are material
At Chessnb, mistakes are not treated as something to hide. They are material to work with. Students receive clear explanations and practical exercises.
Parent visibility
Parents can expect visibility too. Homework, progress tracking, regular review, and monthly reports make it easier to understand what a child is learning.
Realistic timelines
We do not promise instant rating jumps or pretend that a few classes can create a tournament player. Chess improvement takes time and structured effort.
Small batches
Group batches are kept between four and six students. This gives every learner more chances to answer, share their thinking, and receive direct feedback.
